Alexandra “Alex” Scott got it. She may not have had her own personal definition of the phrase Winning with Class, but she definitely lived this phrase.
Alex spent almost her entire 8 year life fighting neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. While fighting her battle, she decided she would do what she could to help other children fight their battles, by holding a lemonade stand to raise money for them. Soon, neighbors and friends joined her. Then, it really started spreading as it gained national media exposure.
Alex had set $1 Million as a goal and, just before she passed, at the age of 8, the goal was reached. Today, Alex’s Lemonade Stand foundation, led by her parents, Jay and Liz Scott, continues Alex’s fight against childhood cancer. So far, they have raised over $80 Million.
Please take some time to visit Alex’s website at www.alexslemonade.org to learn more about this incredible little girl, all that she did in her short time on earth, and all the amazing things that continue to be done in her honor.
25% of the author’s proceeds from the Winning with Class book will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand foundation in hopes that a cure is within reach sometime soon.
