We’ve all heard about how important it is to build a “winning culture.” Most often, we hear about it when a coach takes a new job with a team or school. Usually, one of the top items on the new coach’s agenda is to fix the culture.
Focusing on building a winning culture is a great place for new coaches to start. However, it can be even better if the focus is on a Winning with Class culture. This culture building starts by having each person on the team look themselves in the mirror. He or she should be asking themselves one question – Am I committed to Winning with Class on a daily basis as part of the team? Once the coach gets the entire team on the same page with regard to the answer to this question, the potential for the team is truly limitless.
The building and maintaining of a Winning with Class culture is something we should all pursue. Every day. It should start within each of us. Then, it should spread to the first of our “teams” – our families. It then continues to move on from there to other cultures – our teams, schools, communities and beyond. The potential is limitless and extremely powerful.
So, let’s all start by looking ourselves in the mirror. Let’s make the commitment to Win with Class every day. Let’s then take it one step further and commit to do all we can to contribute to the building of a Winning with Class culture on every single one of the teams on which we play in this game of life.
